Product description

The FM12 was the first respirator in the world to achieve both the NIOSH CBRN Air Purifying Respirator Certification and the European CE Certification in identical configurations. Its unique blend of features makes it the ideal solution for those responding to incidents involving weapons of mass destruction, as well as for the full range of law enforcement operations. 

Its low profile is ideally suited to tactical situations where sighting of weapons or integration with other equipment is required. The lightweight facepiece of the CBRN FM12 is designed to provide a high level of wearer comfort combined with very low breathing resistance. The FM12 CBRN respirator is easy to decontaminate and maintain.

Product approvals

In July 2005, the FM12 was awarded US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) CBRN and CE certification, resulting in the new CBRN FM12 variant.

• CBRN FM12 and the CBRNF12 filter is CE certified to the European PPE Directive 89/686/EEC by TNO Netherlands.
• All combinations are certified with the CTF12 filter to NIOSH 42 CFR 84
• CBRN FM12 is NIOSH CBRN certified with CBRNF12 Cap1 canister
• Meets requirements of the NATO respirator Triptych as assessed by TNO Netherlands

A range of filters are available to address differing requirements; the CBRNF12 canister would be the typical choice for first-responder use, while the AMF12 remains the NATO-compliant NBC canister for military use.

The original FM12 CBRN respirator was designed and developed to meet the specific operational requirements of a number of European NATO members and was adopted by the armed forces of Norway, Denmark and The Netherlands amongst others.
