Avon Protection at GPEC 2016 – world leading respiratory protection for policing, security and Special Forces worldwide

Outstanding modular protection, adaptable for the threat environment

Avon’s PC50 and compatible support items provide respiratory protection for prison officers, riot control, border patrol, planned security and other non-CBRN requirements that demand a robust, field proven military pedigree product.

To provide seamless integration of respiratory protection and physical protection Avon teamed up with Schuberth to produce the HMK150. The HMK 150 uses the PC50 with the world leading police helmet, the Schuberth P100N. By simply exchanging the PC50 harness for helmet connecting straps, the mask integrates with the helmet in seconds with no need to remove the helmet.

Users operating in physically taxing scenarios will benefit from the integration of the PC50 with the new MPPAPR - Avon’s new generation of CBRN Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).

A departure from traditional rigid plastic construction systems, the unique shape and construction of the MPPAPR allows the wearer to mount the unit in multiple ways to ensure unrestricted movement.

Lighter than traditional airflow units, the system provides over 8 hours filtered protection against bio threats and NLM’s, delivering a powerful flow of cooling purified air to the respirator which reduces stress and heat exhaustion. The quick release hose also integrates seamlessly with the helmet visor. Simple and easy to deploy, the total solution provides optimum protection and integration to the law enforcement officer during times of high anxiety and exertion.

The new Avon CSPAPR™ is the newest generation of CBRN Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) designed for use in Combination Unit Respirators (CURs). The ability to change protection levels dependent on the threat provides the wearer with increased duration and safer operation. The low profile shape of the Avon CSPAPR delivers best-in-class integration with self-contained breathing apparatus systems, and delivers reduced weight and size compared to other systems. Deploying crush proof hose technology, the quick release mask connection includes a single rotary selector that allows the wearer to select all modes of protection with one simple action. Lighter and smaller than legacy equipment, the optional auto filter covers module seal off the PAPR filters to protect against extreme environments when in SCBA mode.

Avon’s argus P Type and TT Type thermal imaging cameras are used by security, law enforcement and border patrol agencies worldwide. Field proven, argus cameras deliver reliable detection, identification and recognition thermal imagery, are light enough to be carried on routine patrol and versatile enough to be used to save lives across the spectrum of operations.

The P Type camera is ideal for security patrols at high value locations such as airports and airbases, oil refineries and mining operations, critical national infrastructure, nuclear, military and intelligence facilities. The camera can assist patrols in rapidly detecting potential threats, identifying the nature of the threat and supporting interdiction operations through the capture of high quality images.

The TT camera is ideal for supporting anti-smuggling operations and vehicle check points. The camera’s dynamic range of thermal detection, identification and recognition software enables the operator to rapidly identify changes in heat signatures, such as from hidden cavities, changes in materials or concealed individuals. When used as an aide to search, the TT may be used to identify concealed devices, hidden weapons or suspicious activity.
