Avon Protection is pleased to announce that its closed circuit escape breathing device (EEBD) has been approved under the new NIOSH standard (42CFR84 Subpart O). Avon is the first company to receive a product approval under this demanding standard, reinforcing its position as a global market leader in respiratory protection systems technology.

Speaking of the approval award, Avon’s North America Vice President Gary Dunn said:  “Avon is now able to offer a device that is significantly better and safer than legacy devices and that helps shipboard personnel, miners, and railroad workers escape from life threatening events such as fire in confined spaces.”

This approval is an essential requirement under a solicitation by the US Navy which Avon expects to respond to later this calendar year.
