Avon was founded in Wiltshire, UK, in 1885 and manufactured rubber articles, producing a diverse range of products in our early years, including pneumatic tyres, railway components, conveyor belts, sports equipment and milking machine tubes.
As global events shaped the first half of the twentieth century, Avon transformed its rubber manufacturing expertise into trusted respiratory protection solutions, supporting the production of over 20 million masks during World War II.
From post-war expansion to international growth, we transformed into a global business, extending our reach across Europe and North America while strengthening the capabilities that underpin our protection heritage today.
As global security needs evolved, Avon focused its expertise on advanced respiratory protection, culminating in the award of the U.S. Department of Defense respirator program and establishing the foundation for our modern protection business.
